• Kensington Baptist Church, Bristol

  • While the church had a good reputation for its high quality teaching programmes it made little or no impression on the needy community in which it was located. The Options Study highlighted the needs to which the church responded magnificently by refurbishing its property and opening its facilities to the surrounding community which included many new immigrants who required space for children’s work, youth facilities and general meeting rooms. Maintenance issues left undone were also causing significant problems and these were included in the overall programme of work particularly removing a large narthex wall to open up the main worship area to the main street.
